We like apples. Not the digital kind*, rather the big one, and ones made into pie. That’s why we’re heading to New York on Friday night, and Somerville’s Rosebud Diner on Saturday night. We’re excited to harness the momentum from our sold-out CD release show into high-energy shows this weekend, and are hoping you’ll join us. Details on both shows are here. If we don’t meet your standards, we hope you’ll forget about what we said about apples, and throw tomatoes instead. If only NYC were called The Big Tomato…
In other news, Dust Windows has been getting great reviews. Ryan’s Smashing Life calls it “one of the best new records of 2010″ that is “worthy of national attention.” Beat Surrender calls it “a cracker of a debut.” Bostonist calls it” a compelling listen from beginning to end.” Our moms call it “better than the noise you made in the basement when you were 13.” More reviews are here, and you can find the album here.
Finally, thanks to all of you who voted in the Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll. We were nominated for Best Roots Act, and will find out the results on June 11, assuming we survive the onslaught of apples.
* Although the iRack is brilliant, even if slightly outdated.
