There are a lot of parties out there…keg, dance, tea, Republican…out of all these choices, we’re hoping you’ll come to ours. It’s tomorrow night at the Middle East (upstairs). “Why should I go” you ask? Here’s why:
- Our debut CD, Dust Windows, will finally be available.
- If you get a CD, we’ll give you a cupcake.* It is a party, after all.
- Our original guitarist/mandolin player/fiddler Michael Spaly will be joining us from Seattle. He is an excitable character and bounces around a lot. It’s fun to watch.
- Three other excellent bands are playing: Cassavettes, Grown-Up Noise, and Spouse.
Various media outlets sensed our enthusiasm for this party and invited us to play for them. Here is a recent performance from the Fox morning show. And here we are on WZLX’s Boston Emissions (we’re on at 29:30). Other folks are chatting too: the Boston Herald refuses to put us in the “Americana” box, Boston Survival Guide previews the show by appealing to “fans of exceptional ‘indie Americana’ and crazy pickin’ and fiddlin.’” My Secret Boston says this show “shouldn’t be missed.” Tickets are still available (though they’re selling fast) here.
Radio is also partying. We’d love if you requested either “Cul de Sac” or “Roll of the Dice” to The River, 92.5 FM. It’s easy to do; just click here and fill out the short form.**
If you can’t make it to this show, there will be other opportunities (though we’re not guaranteeing cupcakes…jus sayin). We’ll substitute hummus for apple pie at the Rosebud Diner in Davis Square on May 15. We’ll also be playing Gloucester and New York in the near future. Check kingsleyflood.com for details.
We’re really looking forward to tomorrow night, anticipate having a fantastic time, and hope you will party hard*** with us.
See you out and about,
naseem, nick, jenée, george, will, chris and for tomorrow’s show, michael
*Though we haven’t decided on flavors. Considering it’s the Middle East, one idea thrown around was hummus cupcakes. Good, right?
**And please do this every day for the next 10 months, at least 5 times a day. No? Okay….sorry.
***We were basically just looking for an excuse to link to the greatest party song ever:
